EasyRecruitment: Hero MotoCorp Ltd

Hero MotoCorp is a World Class Manufacturing company. The working environment and the package offered are higher in comparison to the other  companies like Maruti Suzuki, Ashok Leyland, Honda Siel ltd etc. Thus, it is a very good option for those who want to make a career in the Manufacturing domain.

Job Profile: In the year 2012-13 recruitment, company offered non-R&D jobs. The various job profiles which are there for the taking include Shop Floor jobs, R&D jobs, Maintenance, Quality, Marketing etc.

Salary Offered: Hero MotoCorp provide a whooping 6 lacs per annum package.

Recruitment Process: The complete process comprises of the following rounds:
1.      Written Test
2.      Group Discussion
3.      Personal Interview
Written Test is the first hurdle and it is a very tough one. The number of questions are more and the time allotted is very less. The level of question is also very high. The technical section carries questions from the Previous year GATE papers and the Aptitude section is of CAT level. It is tough, no doubt. But remember, it is tough for all, not just for you. The papers remains the same for all the colleges, give and take a few questions.
Group Discussion will be another tough round in which more than your communication skills & the quality of your points raised, your confidence and your power to persuade others (or I should say, your power to make others speechless) are what they see. The various GD topics are:
  • Reality Shows: Pros & Cons.
  • Should Tendulkar retire or not? (This can well be your GD’s topic as this man is not gonna retire soon..:)..!.)
  • Is Anna Hazare doing the right thing by, in a way, blackmailing the Govt?
Personal Interview is easier comparatively where your work in the field of Automobile is seen. Your participation in concerned club activities, projects will do it for you. Take all supporting documents with you, it will help!

EasyQuest: How to build Interview Skills?

The goal in front of an engineering graduate is not to get good marks in the degree, not to acquire the knowledge, not to step into the field of research, but, to ensure one thing: Get a Job & a handsome salary. Isn’t it guys? All of you will agree on this, I hope! And, why not? This can very well be the turning point in your career. In this post, I will describe, ‘How to build Interview Skills?’

I have heard lots and lots of my colleagues discussing amongst themselves, ‘How to prepare, What to prepare, When to prepare for a Job interview?’ Some say: Getting a job is ‘Luck by Chance’. Maybe you have the same opinion too. But, mind you guys, this is more of a superstition than an opinion. Below is a list of Do’s which you should follow religiously for any number of job interviews you are sitting in.

  1. First thing first! Make your mind and introspect yourself. Ask yourself what you want to do and what career path is going to be helpful for you. Your seniors are the most important guys in giving you ideas.
  2. Second thing is to start working on your future course of action. Start preparing the subjects which are necessary for the field chosen. For instance, if you are want to pursue a career in Design Engineering, you should start preparing Engineering Drawing, Machine Design, Strength of Materials etc.
  3. Choose the companies rather than going for hit & trials. Make your domain and set your target. You should have the confidence on your ability that you will get success in getting hired in one of the chosen companies.
  4. Don’t make your dream too impractical too. Always keep some factor of safety as we call it in Mechanical.
  5. Preparing for the domain is one thing and preparing for a specific company is another. When you get to know about the date of company interview start reading about the company. Company’s history, net profits in recent years, recent acquiring and the work company do.
  6. Reading the subjects related to company’s profile should be your utmost priority. And don’t go for cramming the things as company people don’t want to check your memory but your concepts.
  7. Some students fear aptitude section of company papers. For them, I will suggest a very good book in R.S.Aggarwal for Aptitude.
  8. That’s all! You are prepared now. Have confidence on your ability, give your best show.

All the best!

Do it accordingly and there is no one in this world who can stop you from getting the best results for you.

EasyHow: Choice filling in Online Counselling

Online counselling has made the admission process smooth. But, it is not an easy task to participate in online counselling process. A better filling of choices can fetch you a seat in a better college and bad choice can spoil your good rank. Now the question arises, ‘How to fill the online choices in Counselling?’ There are more than many things which you should take care when you are filling choices online. This post is for the Online Counselling of premier Engineering Institutions through Central Counselling Board (CCB) or Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) called nowadays. There are two kind of cases in general:

If your rank is moderate (10000-15000), then you can either go for a good branch in a less reputed college or you can take a ‘less than good’ branch in a highly reputed college. The benefit associated with the latter is that the option of ‘Branch Sliding’ is open for you.

First, if you want admission in a particular college, fill all the branches of that college right at the top. Even if you get an inferior branch first (not your preferred branch), don’t worry! You will get ample opportunities even after the first counselling. And not just the subsequent rounds of the counselling, you can change your branch by ‘Branch Sliding’ which is an option provided to you by your respective colleges. This option lets you change your branch on the basis of the marks you secure in the first year.

The Branch Sliding is a tough nut to crack though. You are supposed to secure good marks in your first year, if you want to get the branch of your choice. And when I say good marks, I mean to say that you need to be in the top 25 in your college if you want your wish fulfilled. This option also depends on the current strength of a branch. There should be a minimum number of students in every branch. Suppose, you have Civil Engineering at present and only 60 % of the seats in your branch are occupied and rest are vacant. If the college have a criterion of a minimum of 75% seats to be filled in every branch, then you cannot apply for Branch Sliding. Because if you do, the 60% of the seats in your branch which were filled earlier will decrease further. So, you need to be absolutely sure about it and there is always a risk associated with this option.

Second, if you want a particular branch then go for all the top colleges and fill only that branch of those colleges and fill a few inferior colleges too right at the top before filling any other branch. Obviously, if you are doing it, you are playing safe and not taking risk which is associated with branch sliding. Never fill the less reputed college before the reputed ones because it is going to spoil your chance even if you are getting the better college. Never think negative about your rank and do fill the good branches of the better colleges too. Who knows, when your luck favors you!
Do it accordingly and there is no one in this world who can stop you from getting the best results for you.
